“Allied countries strongly support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The recent vote of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska to suspend the decisions of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina is an irresponsible move. It is contrary to the spirit and letter of the Dayton Peace Agreement and the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina.” writes in the answer of the NATO official to the query N1 after the NARS passed the Law not to apply the decisions of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“We condemn every attempt to weaken the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the state level, which only undermines the security of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It also has negative consequences for reforms, economy and regional stability of the country. The united structures of Bosnia and Herzegovina are important for the country’s stability, especially the Armed Forces, one of the country’s strongest multinational institutions.
NATO remains committed to strong political dialogue and practical cooperation with Bosnia and Herzegovina. We will continue to support Bosnia and Herzegovina’s efforts towards Euro-Atlantic reforms for the benefit of all its citizens – without prejudice to the final decision on NATO membership – including the efforts of the NATO headquarters in Sarajevo.”
