The NATO-led Kosovo Force (KFOR) has announced the deployment of a multinational force of around 270 soldiers from Albania, Bulgaria, Greece and Romania, who will replace Turkish forces as part of a scheduled rotation.

The deployment, drawn from the Multinational Operational Reserve Force Battalion, operates under the command of the NATO Joint Force in Naples.

It temporarily replaces the Turkish Operational Reserve Force Battalion, KFOR said in a statement.

The newly arrived troops will work alongside around 200 Italian troops already stationed in Kosovo.

KFOR reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment for all communities in Kosovo, emphasizing neutrality in fulfilling its mandate.

Established on 12 June 1999, following a United Nations Security Council resolution, KFOR currently includes more than 4,500 soldiers from 29 NATO and Partner countries, supporting peace and stability in the region, AA writes.
