Nestle cereal for infants removed from Market

nestleThe Agency for Food Safety announced yesterday that the cereal product with eight grains and the addition of culture Bifidobacterium lactis, from manufacturer Nestle Spain, was removed from the market.

The products that are withdrawn are Nestle BL 8 Cereals NSA GAB001 6x600gES Series: 52780291 and Nestle BL 8 Cereals NSA GAB001 6x600gES series: 52870291

The Agency for Food Safety submitted this notice for further action to the competent inspection authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and because of the potential health risks, it is recommended that these products are not consumed.

Tropane alkaloids are secondary metabolites that are naturally present in families of plants. Although there are so far more than 200 species tropane alkaloids identified, the European Agency for Food Safety, claims that they in the food they can be toxic  and are therefore still limited.
