Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he informed the US administration that he is against the establishment of a Palestinian state in any way after the attack on the Gaza Strip.
Netanyahu said at a press conference in Tel Aviv that attacks on the Gaza Strip will continue until a “total victory against Hamas” is achieved.
When asked about reports in the US media that “the Washington administration is making preparations for the establishment of a Palestinian state after Netanyahu”, the Israeli prime minister said:
“The day after Netanyahu. This is the day after the majority of Israeli citizens. And they have been saying one thing consistently for 30 years. This conflict is not about the absence of a state, it is about the existence of a state.”
Stating that he rejected proposals for a two-state solution accepted by the international community, including the United Nations (UN), and conveyed that position to the US administration, Netanyahu noted:
“A prime minister must have the ability to say ‘no’ to friends.”
Claiming that he would only accept an agreement on the future of the Gaza Strip that would allow Israel security control over the entire enclave, Netanyahu claimed to have told US officials as much.
Netanyahu asserted that Israel should take control of all lands west of Jordan after the end of the Gaza offensive.
