[wzslider autoplay=”true”]After building the largest park in the City of Sarajevo last year, with an athletic track, football stadium with artificial grass, basketball courts and children’s playgrounds, and with numerous other amenities for children and adults, the Municipality of Novi Grad continues expanding amenities in the Center “Safet Zajko” this year as well.

As of yesterday, new amenities in the Center “Safet Zajko” are at the disposal for citizens of Novi Grad, Sarajevo, and all guests of the capital of BiH. The new amenities include children’s train, which was put into operation yesterday.

Thanks to the joint campaign of the Municipality and business entities who donated amenities for children, at the disposal are two football fields with artificial court and a large children’s park with toboggans such as has never been seen in Novi Grad before. In addition to new amenities for children, three more hectares of green area were landscaped, new trails with benches and gazebos were built, and the lightning was installed as well. Concrete tables for table tennis will also be placed soon.

The newly arranged part of the Center “Safet Zajko” was officially opened by the Mayor of the Novi Grad Municipality Semir Efendić, Director of HIFA Oil Group, who donated the children’s train, Nedžad Polić, then the donor of the large toboggan for children Murat Begić, Director of Velvet Trade company and Sunija Jahić, Director of the company Bosman, which donated artificial grass for two football courts.

Efendić highlighted that a large number of citizens visit the park “Safet Zajko” since its opening, especially since the spring. During the weekends, the park is filled with visitors from the entire city of Sarajevo, so that the expansion of the part is of great significance for reducing crowds in the park.

“What is left to be done is landscaping of five hectares of area which will be put into operation by the end of this year. Water amenities and park areas combined with water and the like will also be built,” Mayor Efendić said.

In his addressing speech, Director of HIFA Oil Group Nedžad Polić said that donation of this company is a small sign of social responsibility and a gift to the youngest residents in the Novi Grad Municipality.

After the official opening, the youngsters had an opportunity to try out the new park amenities, and the youngest ones especially enjoyed the ride in the children’s train.
