New Cases of COVID-19 and New Deaths reported in Sarajevo

After the analysis of 394 samples, collected from December 24 to 26 this year, 87 newly infected persons with coronavirus were confirmed in the Sarajevo Canton.

Out of that number, 51 infected persons, ie 58.62 percent, belong to family clusters or contacts of patients from before, and they are in self-isolation from before.

At the same time, 133 people recovered from the infectious disease COVID-19, which continues today the positive trend of a higher number of recovering than the number of newly infected with coronvirus in the Sarajevo Canton.

At the clinics and in the Isolation of the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo in Podhrastovi (130), and in the General Hospital “Prof.dr. Abdulah Nakaš ”(58), 188 people were hospitalized, seven of them at the KCUS and two at the General Hospital using mechanical respiratory support when breathing.

There are 15 patients on non-invasive ventilation. In the past 24 hours, five people were discharged from this hospital treatment.

Unfortunately, there was also one fatal outcome in treatment, so the number of deaths caused by the coronavirus increased to 367 people.

Currently, 1,493 cases of coronavirus infection are active in Sarajevo Canton. From January 30 to December 26, 23,928 people infected with the coronavirus were registered, of which 22,068 recovered.
