The young Bosnian-Polish couple, Anel Ramic from Brcko and Dagna Lewandowska, spent the last few years together by visiting many countries in the world and enjoying the exciting and interesting trips. Anel and Dagna are perhaps one of the few couples who are traveling and visiting other countries in this way.

“We met while volunteering at the same NGO. Dagna stayed in Brcko for 9 months thanks to the European Union project EVS. Later, with the help of the same project, I stayed in Poland for a year. EVS is actually a great opportunity to travel, meet new people and places, customs and habits. In our case, it is much more,” said Anel.

He says that it was not a decision to go on journey with Dagna, but the natural flow of things. One of the first common “trips” was a trip to Majevica Mountain, only 20 kilometers from Brcko, where they sat in the tent and listened to the sound of the stream in complete wilderness for two days.

Dagna states that she and Anel are trying to travel cheap, because they are not rich. Therefore, they are trying to visit the countries in which they can afford a longer stay, but also to provide the necessary food.

“Basically, we carry everything we need in our backpacks, from the tents where we can spend the night where ever we go, to kettle with which we can always have a warm meal. We are traveling by hitchhiking, walking, by train, bus, plane… everything depends on the current financial capabilities,” they said.

When it comes to places that left the biggest impression on them, she states that Iran impressed them by its hospitality, culture and nature.

“I think that this is the ideal place for travelers with a low budget, but who want more and more to get to know a place visit,” she said, stating that besides Iran, India was also an important life lesson for them.

“Staying there changed the way we interpret the world around us. It is hard to discriminate other places that we visited, since every city, village, river or mountain that man visits has some message and meaning,” said Dagna.

“This time we have a great desire to go on the bike path, to minimize the costs of travel, and to maximize the independence of the road. It will probably be Asia again. This time, we are planning to stay in the towns just as it is necessary, while we want to spend most of the time in nature,” said Anel and Dagna.
