The Cantonal Court in Sarajevo extended the custody of Armin Berberović, suspected of hitting three girls with a car at a pedestrian crossing in Sarajevo, of whom Azra Spahić died on the spot, while Alma Suljić died almost a month later from her injuries, it was said in this court.
The acting prosecutor submitted a proposal to the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo for the extension of detention due to the danger that Berberović’s stay at liberty could cause public disturbance.
The traffic accident, in which Azra Spahić was killed and two other girls were injured, took place on May 26 at around 11:30 p.m. in Marijin dvor.
Alma Suljić died of her injuries on June 22 at the Clinical Center in Sarajevo.
It was established that Berberović was driving without a driver’s license and under the influence of alcohol.
