Miroslav Nešić was appointed as the Head of the NCB Interpol Sarajevo Department, based on the decision of the Civil Service Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The appointment followed the completion of an internal competition announced in early March 2025.

Nešić has held this position as an acting officer since 2023, and has now officially assumed full responsibility without a time limit, since this position is not subject to a classic mandate.

The position of Head of the NCB Interpol Sarajevo Department plays an extremely important role in the security system of BiH, as it represents the main link between domestic police agencies and Interpol. The department he heads coordinates the exchange of information via the international I-24/7 network, and enables cooperation with the police forces of other countries in cases of international crime, arrest warrants, terrorism and other security threats.

Nešić’s appointment comes in a sensitive political and security context, and within the system it is expected that the work in this position will be under special supervision given the importance of the position and access to confidential international information.
