Šarović said that the Ministry implemented numerous activities this year.

“A lot has been done in the field of agriculture, energy, as well as in the sectors of international trade and environmental protection,” said Šarović, noting that the aggravating factor is the fact that the majority of decisions has to be harmonized with entities, and that there are issues of jurisdiction and readiness for such thing.

Šarović also recalled the great success with the export of meat to Turkey, which helped support the livestock sector in BiH, and the success achieved in several sectors when it comes to foreign trade exchange.

Speaking of the plans of this ministry for next year, Šarović highlighted that every sector has its priorities and that one of them is environmental protection, and that there are many things related to climate change, energy efficiency, and renewable energy sources.

In the field of energy, Šarović announced the adoption of the law on electrical energy, where the part which refers to gas will be implemented, while in agriculture they have serious plans for reaching European standards. Thus, in the beginning of next year, they expect to obtain permit for export of other products.

“I expect us to successfully complete the part related to the Questionnaire from the European Commission,” said Šarović, concluding that the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations has a strong obligation to provide good responses and help BiH obtain the candidate status for membership in the EU.
