New Russian Attacks on Kiev, Poland raised Fighter Jets

Three people were wounded in a rocket attack in Kiev, the mayor of the Ukrainian capital, Vitali Klitschko, announced.

Klitschko first announced via Telegram that explosions could be heard in the capital and that a “rocket attack on Kiev” was underway, and later added that at least three people were wounded in three Kiev districts.

At the same time, Ukraine’s air defense issued a warning for the Kharkiv, Mykolaiv and Odessa regions due to missiles that entered the Chernihiv region from the north and are moving south. These warnings were later withdrawn.

In response, the command of the Polish Armed Forces announced that the Polish and allied aviation had scrambled aircraft in Polish airspace due to the “intensity and activity of Russian aviation striking targets in western Ukraine”. ;

On the other hand, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that it had intercepted and destroyed 11 Ukrainian drones on Russian territory.

It all comes two days after a Russian strike on Kryvyi Rih, the hometown of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Zelensky yesterday condemned the “weak” US response to the deadly Russian missile strike on his city of Kryvyi Rih, located in central Ukraine. The attack killed 18 people and wounded 72, including many children.

The Russian Defense Ministry said it had carried out a precision strike in Kryvyi Rih on a restaurant where Ukrainian military commanders and Western instructors were gathering.
