a-transversal-airport-openingYesterday was opened a section of A transversal, which leads from Mojmilo to the International Airport Sarajevo.

With the opening of this road, the flow of traffic from Dobrinja towards the center of the city will be accelerated, because the roundabout will connect A transversal with 10th transversal.

At the opening ceremony, the Prime Minister of Canton Sarajevo Elmedin Konakovic said that this is an extremely important project for the Municipality of Novi Grad and entire Canton Sarajevo “because we got a modern road”.

Mayor of the Municipality Novi Grad Semir Efendic said that the construction of the road was completed in 15 months, instead of the planned 3 years.

“Works performed by the company “Euro-Asfalt” cost 7 million BAM, and they spent 1.5 million BAM on property rights. These were not credit funds, but the funds secured thanks to the Government of CS, the Directorate of Roads of CS and the Municipality of Novi Grad,” said Efendic.

From now on, in the use is the main route of A transversal, while most of service roads will start working in the following few days.

A transversal is one of the most important roads in this part of Sarajevo, because the traffic to the International Airport Sarajevo was redirected from Dobrinjska Street to a modern boulevard.

The construction of A transversal started on the 4th of September 2015.
