Newly released satellite images from the Darfur region in Sudan show the scale of the genocide and crimes carried out by the paramilitary group Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
As has been known earlier, the RSF took control of this part of Sudan with the support of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and footage of crimes and killings of innocent civilians coming from that area has shocked the entire world.
The Humanitarian Research Lab (HRL) at Yale University published new satellite images from this area and stated that they observed numerous so-called clusters with color changes around them, which indicates the presence of human bodies.
United States (U.S.) investigator Nathaniel Raymond said that he and his team at the research laboratory noticed “an explosion of objects measuring between 1.3 and two meters that spread across the land,” which the HRL at Yale concluded were human bodies based on their length, shape, and ground videos showing systematic killings of civilians.
“In Daraja Oula, a settlement where civilians are hiding, we see tactical postures on vehicles that are largely consistent with house-to-house killings. This also matches the video footage and testimonies of those who arrived in Tawila. Especially women, who said that the RSF separates men, and then they hear gunshots,” they stated.
On the outskirts of El Fasher, HRL Yale also stated that they observed multiple groups of bodies that appeared between October 26th and 27th, which aligns with reports of civilians being killed while trying to flee.
West of the city, along its surrounding embankment, at least six groups were observed, as well as nearby technical vehicles, which were not seen in the images from October 28th, suggesting that the RSF forces moved, leaving large groups of bodies behind.

“We saw that all vehicles of the Sudanese Armed Forces left en masse at roughly the same time. Which is consistent with reports that they fled during the night in what now appears to have been an agreement made with the RSF, leaving civilians in Al-Fasher to die,” the investigators stated.
Investigators also believe that the perpetrators will accelerate the killings.
“Now the situation will accelerate. The people they will now kill are those who are hiding. And these are mostly women and children… Now it will be those who are too weak to flee or those men who have been hiding and trying to protect them from the RSF,” he said.
