Today, the tunnel “Kraula” will be break through on the road M-18, Šićki Brod-Sarajevo, section Kladanj-Podpaklenik.
In the mid-April 2014, the contract for construction work on the project “Border Tunnel” was signed with the Public Enterprise Roads of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo. The construction work started on 5th June 2014.
The construction of the tunnel Karula, bridges and tracks on the M-18 shortens the existing shares for 3.6 km.In this way, the route between Tuzla and Sarajevo will be shortened and will enable faster movement of people and goods.
Length of the projected tunnel Karaula is 902 meters, the contractor is Strabag AG and a subcontractor is Entea. Supervision of the works is performed JV Roughton International Ltd. & IPSA Institute with a sub consultant – Geotechnical studio Zagreb.
The contract value is 24,257,083.13 BAM.
