Nigel Casey and Waqar Azmi on Visit to FBiH Ministry of Culture and Sport

britanski-ambasador-slike-4Ambassador of Great Britain to B&H Nigel Casey and the President of the Initiative for Remembrance and Education on Srebrenica Waqar Azmi visited today the FBiH Ministry of Culture and Sport, where they met with the Minister Salmir Kaplan.

Azmi expressed appreciation for the concrte support of the Ministry of Culture and Sport to mark the Day of Remembrance in Srebrenica, which was organized for the first time in London on 11 July 2013.

On this occasion, Prime Minister of Great Britain David Cameron spoke with Srebrenica survivors, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs William Hague, together with a number of high officials from Great Britain, who took part in the central part of the program.

The Federal Minister of Culture and Sport was included in the realization of the project to mark the Srebrenica genocide in London 2013.

Minister Salmir Kaplan pointed to the support and assistance of the Ministry to the realization of the project concerning the commemoration of genocide in Srebrenica, and said that it could be relied on in the future.

The central topic of the meeting was on the continuation of cooperation between the initiative for remembrance and education on Srebrenica and the FBiH Ministry for Culture and Sport in marking every next 11 July in Great Britain.

Azmi said that the intention of the Initiative for Remembrance and Education on Srebrenica is that activities are not limited to only marking the annual genocide, but also for activities to be conducted throughout the entire year.

He promised that visits by a number of officials would be organized, as well as artists and athletes from Great Britain to the Memorial Center in Potočari.

A great contribution to the project was given by the Embassy of Great Britain to B&H and the Embassy of B&H in London, whose Ambassadors are Nigel Casey and Mustafa Mujezinović, announced the FBiH Ministry of Culture and Sport.
