SDP President Nermin Niksic responded to the dangerous statements of SNSD President Milorad Dodik, who said that he was persuading Croats to leave the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) once and for all with the Serbs.
“Today is the biggest Christian holiday, the day when the resurrection of Jesus Christ is celebrated. Unfortunately, Milorad Dodik made sure that with his statements, for the umpteenth time, he revived the idea of dividing BiH. I don’t like it when we prove ourselves and fight through the media, and we signed the Agreement on the basis of which the Council of Ministers was formed, which showed in two months how it is possible to workin the interest of all citizens in BiH,” said Niksic yesterday.
“Once again, I want to remind you that we decided to take responsibility and try to change the situation in the country. We decided to trade-off, but not to compromise. Let no one understand our determination to reach an agreement as our weakness, but as an extended hand for cooperation. Our goodwill has its limits, especially towards those who do not know how to appreciate it,” he added.
He added that Dodik’s statement that he is trying to convince the Croats to leave the institutions of BiH once and for all, and that in their treasury there are all the laws, regulations and by-laws ready for the Republika Srpska (RS) to become an independent state after an hour and a half of the parliamentary session, is an open threat and an attack on functioning of institutions of the state of BiH.
“Therefore, I sincerely hope that Mr. Dodik’s statements from today will remain at the level of the now already usual statements with which he tries to exert pressure on the representatives of the international community. For us, as co-signatories of the agreement, it is only an additional reason to be careful in our relations. There should be no doubt that every attempt to realize the threat and attempt to divide BiH provoked our appropriate reaction. That’s why I call on him and all of us to, instead of fighting and inflammatory statements, continue what we successfully started by cooperating on the basis of the signed agreement, by adopting the state budget and reform program so that citizens could feel positive changes in BiH. Institutions, like politicians, are there to serve citizens, not to be a means of manipulation for daily political needs,” he concluded yesterday.
Let’s recall that Dodik said in an interview for Politika that RS refuses to live, as he said, in unconstitutional BiH, Klix.ba reports.
