No Lithium Mining without the Guarantees of International and Domestic Experts, Vucic says

The President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, said on Thursday that there is no talk of any lithium mining in his country until guarantees are received from the world’s best experts.

Vučić addressed the citizens of Serbia today, and in addition to the economic indicators of his country, he also spoke about the topic of lithium mining, which has caused mass protests in Serbia.

He underlined that there will be no changes in the field or mining of lithium until Serbia receives guarantees from the best domestic and foreign experts.

“There is no digging, no changes on the field, nor will there be. Until we get all the guarantees ourselves, nothing will happen in the next 12 to 18 months,” said Vučić, and continued: “They deceive you every day. They lie to you every day. We have to collect all the documentation, we will invite the best experts from abroad, but we will take the best Serbian experts for environmental protection, those who will be able to guarantee us that all people will be absolutely safe, that they will be able to do their jobs, that will be able to do everything they have been doing so far, and that they will be able to be more successful than they have been so far.”

Vučić emphasized that this is the first condition without which he will not even discuss anything at all.

He further stated that it is very important to take care of the problems of all the people who sold their property in the process of expropriation by direct agreement with Rio Tinto in any other way, AA writes.
