Non-Working Days for the International Workers’ Day in BiH

The Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Policy informed the public in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina that the Law on Holidays, which is applied as a federal law on the basis of the Decree on the Adoption and Application of Federal Laws that May Day is the International Labor Day and that it is celebrated for two days (May 1 and 2).

The same law stipulates that if one of the days in which May Day is celebrated falls on a Sunday, the first day after those two days is considered a holiday.

In accordance with the above, and given that May 1, 2022 falls on a Sunday, the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Policy informs the public that non-working days in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina are Sunday, May 1, Monday, May 2 and Tuesday, May 3. 2022.

Employers, institutions, administrative bodies and other legal entities do not work on public holidays, the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Policy said.

International Workers’ Day, also known as Labour Day in most countries and often referred to as May Day is a celebration of labourers and the working classes that is promoted by the international labour movement and occurs every year on May Day (1 May).
