The Ukrainian government released a video on Friday that it claims shows North Korean soldiers in Russia. The video was published by the Ukrainian Center for Strategic Communications, which operates within the Ukrainian Ministry of Culture and Information.

A video posted on the Center’s official Telegram channel, according to Ukraine, shows North Korean soldiers taking over military uniforms and equipment at a military base in Russia’s far east. The video was allegedly made at the training center in Sergeevka.

The video first appeared on the Telegram channels of pro-Kremlin military bloggers, and investigative site Agency claims it originated in Sergeevka in Russia’s far east, 200 kilometers from the border with North Korea.

Ukrainian sources, to recall, have been claiming for days that North Korean soldiers have been sent to Russia to participate in the war against Ukraine.

“Sent more than 10,000 soldiers”

“More than 10,000 North Korean soldiers are training for the war against Ukraine on the territory of Russia,” claim intelligence sources from Ukraine and South Korea.

As Kyrylo Budanov, head of the military intelligence service of Ukraine, said in an interview with The War Zone website, close to 11,000 members of the infantry units of the North Korean army are currently undergoing training for war in the east of Russia. He expects them to be ready by November 1st, that is, in less than two weeks.

Budanov added that North Korean forces should use Russian equipment and ammunition in combat. He expects the first unit, close to 2,600 soldiers, to be deployed in the Kursk region, which was invaded by elite Ukrainian units more than two months ago.

As for the further deployment of the remaining North Korean troops, there is no information available at this time, Budanov told War Zone.

To recall, the South Korean Ministry of Defense said 10 days ago that North Korea will probably send part of its regular armed forces to Ukraine in support of Russia. A few days later, the American Institute for War Studies reported that several thousand North Korean soldiers were being trained in Russia and could be deployed to Ukraine.

Meeting in Seoul

1,500 troops from North Korea have arrived in Russia, South Korea’s security agency announced yesterday, after which South Korean President Yoon Suk-Yeol called an emergency security meeting and said the international community must respond “with all available means.”

Yesterday’s meeting in Seoul was attended by key officials from the Office of National Security, the Ministry of Defense and the National Intelligence Service, Suk-Yeol’s office said, N1 writes.
