Number of Mobile Phone Users in BiH reduced?

Mobile Services Prices bportal.baIn the third quarter of 2016, in BiH was a total of  3,427,401 users of telephone services in mobile telephony, which is 2.87 % less compared to the same period last year.

According to the quarterly report of the Communications Regulatory Agency (CRA) on using data operator, in the third quarter of last year, the market leader in mobile telephony is BH Telecom with 47.14 % share and records a slight increase, while Telekom Srpske has a share of 37.99 % and HT Mostar 14.49 %.

The liberalization of the telecommunications market of BiH created the conditions for new players in this market, including the largest share for Izi Mobile of 0.21 %, Blicnet has a share of 0.07 %, and Logosoft, Telrad net and Elta kabel of 0.03 %.

The total number of SMS messages declined by about 20 %.

In the third quarter of 2016, in BiH were 697,884 active fixed telephone lines of dominant operators, while there was a decrease of 2.7 % compared to the same period in 2015.

The total number of broadband Internet access via the fixed network was 641,527 and it is in a slight increase. The penetration rate of Internet users via the fixed network in the third quarter of 2016 exceeded 74 %, while the number of xDSL connections is bigger than 376,000 and also records a slight increase.

There is 71 internet operator on BH market.
