napredak-christmas-concertOfficial 25th Napredak Christmas Concert was held last night in the National Theatre Sarajevo.

Prior to the beginning of the concert, the President of the Croatian Culture Society Napredak Prof. Dr. Franjo Topić said that the aim of the Christmas concert is primarily to bring some optimism in the country.

“Many people are depressed. We bring some joy. Christmas is the holiday of joy. We have a song called ‘Rejoice, people’ which will be performed by Marko Bošnjak tonight,” said Topić last night.

Topic said that mostly domestic artists and groups perform at this year’s Christmas concert, including the Choir Pontanima, Choir of the Catholic Education Center Saint Joseph, soloist Vedrana Šimić and conductor Dario Vučić, as well as the Sarajevo Philharmonic Orchestra.

Topic highlighted that funds collected from the Christmas concert will go to Napredak’s Scholarship Fund. According to him, that is a small contribution to young people and their education endeavors here.

Napredak’s concert was attended by representatives of political, public, cultural life and representatives of international organizations and diplomatic core in BiH.
