mostar old bridge austria flagOn the occasion of the death of Alois Mock, the former Vice-Chancellor of the Republic of Austria, the Old Bridge in  Mostar was illuminated by the colors of the Austrian flag, and on the facade of the Halebija tower was the figure of Alois Mock.

This was the expression of condolences of all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) to friendly Austria, as well as the expression of honor to this great friend of BiH.

Mock was the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Austria from 1987 to 1995, and in 2006 he was awarded the International Prize for Mostar Peace Connection for his immense contribution to the international recognition of BiH, the establishment of peace and post-war reconstruction of BiH.
