Oliver Varhelyi is coming to BiH next Week to meet with political Party Leaders

European Enlargement Commissioner, Oliver Varhelyi is coming to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) next week. According to initial information, he will meet with leaders of political parties in BiH.

Because of the political crisis, as many call it the worst situation since Dayton, caused by the blockade of institutions by Republika Srpska (RS) parties due to Inzko’s law banning genocide denial, many European and world officials visited BiH in the previous period and held talks with party leaders.

This week, Adviser to the United States (U.S.) Secretary of State, Derek Collet visited BiH, and his delegation also included Gabriel Escobar, the U.S. Special Envoy for the Western Balkans.

Earlier, Varhelyi sent a message to political actors in BiH.

”We want the actors in BiH to respect and fully implement the Dayton Agreement. We need a BiH that is functional with all state institutions and I call on all actors to respect our request. It is not only in the interest of the European Union (EU) and stability in this region but also in the interest of the people of BiH, ” stated Varhelyi regarding the political crisis.
