Omerašević: The Fire destroyed Millions of BAM, Employees have nothing to return to

omerasevic2The Mayor of Municipality Zavidovići, Suad Omerašević, is on the site of the factory Krivaja since 1 a.m., or at the site of the disaster where the   facility for production of prefabricated houses burned and hundreds of job places “burned down” in a couple of hours.

Yesterday morning, the Prime Minister of Zenica-Doboj Canton visited Zavidovići as well. The fire was localized and firefighters, together with citizens, tried to completely extinguish the fire, and they will be on duty for days, in order to prevent larger flame again.

“A real disaster, that is what happened to Zavidovići. We still cannot talk about the possible causes of the fire, but the investigation will tell us what actually happened. Millions of BAM literally burned, and this is what preliminary data is showing, since so much money has been invested in facilities and equipment,” said Omerašević.

He further noted that at the moment, this economic operator cannot say what will happen with the people who were working in this facility, but he hopes that the state will help as well.

“People have nowhere to return to work. At a time when we are fighting for every job place this is a true disaster that made a big impact on the economy as well as on employees of this company. Unfortunately, it is inevitable that some people will not have nothing to return to,” said Omerašević.

To recall, the production facility of the company “Krivaja – Factory of prefabricated houses” from Zavidovići, burned. This factory resulted from the privatization of the facility “Krivaja,” which was involved in the production and sale of prefabricated houses.

The factory was privatized in 2005 by the Mujanović family which is still at the head of the company, and which was operating very successfully.

Most of the investments took place in 2012, but now everything disappeared in ashes.
