Francis-FukuyamaFrancis Fukuyama, one of the most famous US and world intellectuals, will give a lecture on the 3rd Sarajevo Fair in Dom Armije in Sarajevo, and at the Faculty of Political Science in Sarajevo a day later.

The public lecture will be held in the organization of the Faculty of Political Sciences, the Center for Electoral Studies, Transparency International BiH and the association  “Zasto ne (Why not)”, within the framework of the Academy for the development of public policies, which is held from July 3 to 7.

The academy, led by Fukuyama, who is one of the most famous modern American politologists, will gather around 30 participants from the region. There is a great interest on social media in public lectures of this famous scientist.

“Professor Fukuyama will give public lectures on the problem and challenges of corruption and how to respond to the problem of corruption. Moreover, the 25th anniversary of his famous book “End of History and the Last Man” is approaching. Considering opinions that Professor Fukuyama presented in his works, which, as it is already well known, some people support and others deny, we will try to encourage debate on the topic whether this is the end of history or the end of democracy and what challenges it brings,” said Sead Turcalo, professor at the Faculty of Political Science in Sarajevo.

Fukuyama became famous with his essay “End of History” that he wrote after the fall of the USSR, in which he stated that liberal capitalism won forever. Today, he is a huge critic of US President Donald Trump. He commented the events in our region on several occasions, and he recently stated that “Yugoslavia could survive without tragedy”.
