An incident took place in Sarajevo yesterday, after which a 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of beating a two-year-old child and inflicting serious, life-threatening injuries on him. The Prosecutor’s Office of the Sarajevo Canton requests a one-month detention for him.

Suspect A. H. was detained early yesterday morning in Geteova street in Alipašino polje (Novi Grad municipality) and was taken to criminal processing in connection with the beating of a child.

At the end of the investigation, he was handed over to the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of Sarajevo Canton, and the acting prosecutor of the Canton Sarajevo Prosecutor’s Office suggested to the Municipal Court in Sarajevo that the suspect be ordered to one-month custody for inflicting severe, life-threatening bodily injuries on a child, the spokeswoman for the prosecution, Azra Bavčić, confirmed to the media.

Suspect A.H.’s detention was proposed due to the danger that he could influence witnesses or conceal evidence.
