One of the most modern training centers for police officers in BiH was opened on the occasion of the Day of Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Zenica-Doboj Canton. Until now, a total amount of 8 million BAM was invested in the Police Training Center, heliport, pool, shooting hall and other facilities in this institution.

Amongst numerous guests, the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH Bakir Izetbegovic addressed the audience and congratulated the Day of Police to police officers of Zenica-Doboj Canton.

“This building is a guarantee that we will welcome every day in better working conditions, with better equipment and better training opportunities in order for our police officers to perform their honourable and responsible mission in a professional way and for the benefit of the entire community,” said Bakir Izetbegovic.

He stated that this is an opportunity for everyone to remember contributions of our police units given to the defense of BiH.

“It is our duty to remember that time and to remember those police officers who gave their lives for the defense of their homeland. Among them are 97 police officers from ZDC. We have to remember them and take care of their families,” said Izetbegovic.

Police Commissioner of MIA Zenica-Doboj Canton Semir Sut said that this is project that is realized once in 100 years.

There is also storage space in the center, and a central archive in which all the information of the MIA ZDC will be preserved in the next 10 years.

“This will change the whole training concept of police officers, and we have  several things for which we have no capacity at the moment, which is a heliport and horse stable. We did that so that we can develop and expand our capacities in the future period. We are leaving a great facility to our future generations and we are hoping that everyone will benefit from it. Moreover, we will have professional police officers coming out of this facility,” stated Sut.
