One person died due to injuries sustained in the fire that broke out today in the “Dom Smreka” facility in Srebrenik, while four firefighters were injured during the intervention, reported the Police Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) of Tuzla Canton.

Adnana Sprečić, spokesperson of the Tuzla Canton MUP Police Administration, said that a fire was reported to the police in Srebrenik at 2:25 p.m. at the “Dom Smreka” facility.

She stated that the duty team of the Emergency Medical Service of the Srebrenik Health Center and members of the local Professional Fire Department went to the scene where they found a person whose initials were N.K. from Rapatnica, who was transported to the emergency room in Srebrenik, but died as a result of his injuries.

Sprečić said that the doctor on duty at the Srebrenik Health Center confirmed the death of this person.

“Due to the inhalation of harmful gases during the intervention in the Emergency Medical Service of the Srebrenik Health Center, four firefighters responded, two of whom were sent to the University Clinical Center Tuzla to the Clinic for Pulmonary Diseases, while two were sent to home treatment after receiving medical assistance”, said Sprecic.

The fire is extinguished, and the investigation is ongoing, BHRT writes.
