radionicaThe Center for Sustainability of the Open Gallery Sarajevo will host the second workshop called ‘Filcana Vuna’ on Wednesday from 12:00 to 15:00 on the premises of the Bosnian Cultural Center in Sarajevo.

The program contains a second workshop of making traditional garments of wool, such as Bosnian slippers, bags, and other items of clothing that are interwoven with Bosnian colors.

The history of felting is about 8.000 years old. The beginnings were primitive, until man began to cultivate, wash, comb and paint wool. All that is required is water, soap and the hands of a master. Besides knowing the technique, it takes a lot of patience, hard work and the love of a craft.

The aim of the center is to preserve the tradition of B&H, as well as introducing young people about the values of Bosnian heritage. The organizer of the workshop is Bosnian Cultural Center Sarajevo, and the sponsor is BH Telecom.
