Opening of International Chess Tournament “Bosna 2014” Today

chessInternational chess tournament “Bosna 2014” will officially open today at 15:00 at the Sarajevo Hotel “Radon Plaza”. The Executive Director of the European Chess Union Vladimir Šakotić will held an welcoming speech.

The tournament, which the Chess Club “Bosna” traditionally organizes for the 44th time will bring together 145 players from 12 countries, who will start playing at 16:00 for the first round of the competition which will take place until 6 June at the conference hall of the Hotel “Radon Plaza”.

9 rounds will be played according to the Swiss system, FIDE variant. 15 prizes are ensured for the players of A tournament and 29 for players of B tournament.

The entrances is free of charge for the public with the request of a maximal silence which is necessary for chess player to concentrate.

The sponsor of International tournament “Bosna 2014” are the government of Sarajevo canton -Ministry of Culture and Sports, Federal Ministry for Culture and Sports and B&H Ministry of Civil Affairs, announced the Chess Club Bosna.
