In early October, the new building of Gazi Husrev Beg library in Sarajevo will be open for all lovers of books, good words and old Bosnian traditions. Director of the library Mustafa Jahić confirmed for “Avaz“, stressing that all equipments are already set.
New library will contain the rare and unique works of Islamic studies, science on oriental languages and literature, which are of great importance for the cultural heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“We brought the books from the old library, and we putted them in order… It has remain only some small works”, said Jahić.
As Jahic pointed out, the library has the capacity of more than 500.000 works, as well as, there is space for stuff related to the library. In the library it will be 10.000 codices of handwriting from over 20.000 major and minor works in Islamic.
The construction of Gazi Husrev Beg library started 10 years ago.
