The Turkish Agency for Cooperation and Coordination (TIKA) supported the project of equipping a laboratory at the Agricultural and Food Sciences Faculty in Sarajevo for the control of honey and other bee products, primarily for pollen analysis that is not done anywhere in B&H.
The establishment of a laboratory will allow the quality control performance of honey and thus adapt to EU standards, after which honey from B&H would be recognized in the EU, and the export of honey would be promoted.
With the establishment of a central laboratory for the control of the quality of honey, beekeeping associations have received a place where they could receive a certificate on the quality of their products.
The opening ceremony of the laboratory will take place on 6 September 2013 at 15:00.
