The summer season at Jahorina will begin on June 27, when all visitors will be able to enjoy free facilities, and citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina will receive a 50 percent discount on all facilities during the season, said the director of the Olympic Center “Jahorina” Dejan Ljevnaić.

Ljevnaić said that Jahorina mountain, which offers the largest number of summer attractions, from the longest bobsled on rails in Southeast Europe, adrenaline park, zip line, cable car ride with a beautiful panoramic view, adrenaline park, all designed to meet the needs of different generations.

“We are opening our Olimp bar and attractions on the lake, as well as numerous other activities on top of the mountain. Jahorina offers something for everyone, and this year we will open a new attraction located on the Poljice plateau – a trampoline adapted and attractive for children and adults. There are also courts for basketball, football, we will organize a large number of camps,” LJevnaić pointed out and added that it will have the most visited season.

According to him, this year they are celebrating the 10th anniversary edition of the “Jahorina Ultra Trail”, where 5,000 participants from all over the world have signed up so far, and the main prize is a car for the men’s and women’s competition.

“The 100-mile race will start from Zelengora and go through the most beautiful areas of Republika Srpska to Jahorina. Before the trail, we will also organize a camp for competitors who want to learn something and meet the best runner in the world. That’s why our goal is to attract tourists from the region and beyond, offering not only accommodation and a diverse gastronomic offer, but also numerous events and activities that will meet all their expectations,” said Ljevnaić.

He emphasized that residents of all six municipalities within the city of East Sarajevo will have the opportunity to use all summer attractions for free on July 13 and 14, August 10 and 11, and September 7 and 8.

Ljevnaić stated that the opportunities and conditions for dealing with tourism today are not ideal, but that Jahorina is successfully resisting all challenges, and in order for it to remain so, the development of sustainable tourism and cooperation with all local and republican institutions is necessary.

“Jahorina is the main tourist and economic link of this region,” said Ljevnaić.

The President of the Supervisory Board of the “Jahorina” Olympic Center, Nedeljko Elek, pointed out that during the summer season, a discount is available on the facilities for visitors to the mountain, giving up 50 percent of the profit, and that they want to attract as many tourists as possible to Jahorina, which has the best summer facilities, but does not have adequate attendance.

Elek stated that the Olympic Center gave up profit and that others should do the same, and that the price of accommodation and catering services should be reduced.

“It cannot be a cheap ticket and ask a public company to make a profit. Although we had two green winters and operated in extremely difficult conditions, we reported a profit of 340.000 KM. The most important thing in the audit report is that we increased the assets of the Olympic Center ` Jahorina’ for 26 million KM,” said Elek.

He stated that it is necessary to invest in the road infrastructure on the mountain, and appealed to the Public Company “Roads of Republika Srpska” to complete the work on Jahorina, because the summer season is entering, and nobody likes to see potholes on the roads and gravel.

The mayor of East Sarajevo, Ljubiša Ćosić, thanked the management of the Olympic Center for the invitation and the cooperation they have, emphasizing that since 2O16. since 2008, they are making efforts to make the winter and summer tourist seasons look as good as possible and attract as many guests as possible.

“Jahorina today is unrecognizable compared to the period 10 years ago, thanks to the Olympic Center and the investments of the Government of the Republic of Srpska. The development of the winter and summer season is a process in which all actors must be involved, and we at Gradska insist on that,” said Ćosić. .

He announced that by the beginning of the winter season, together with the “Jahorina” Olympic Center, they will try to identify places where they will place urban furniture so that walkers on the mountain have a place to rest and leave their waste.

Ćosić stated that the plan is also to build a bicycle and pedestrian path in Jahorina, which they would work together with the municipalities of Pale and Trnovo in the value of one million KM, and which would be supported by the Government of the Republic of Srpska, and they also informed Elek about it.

“The city of East Sarajevo and the municipalities of Pale and Trnovo would give 200,000 KM each, and the rest would be supported by the Government of the Republic of Srpska. When the project documentation is finished, we will present a plan to the Government of the RS in order to reach a final solution,” said Ćosić.

Ćosić thanked the management of the Olympic Center “Jahorina” for recognizing the needs of tourists and offering a 50 percent discount for the citizens of BiH during the summer, stressing that it is no small matter and that the citizens of East Sarajevo will have free facilities for six days.
