The Tourist Board of the Canton of Central Bosnia (KSB) is preparing the opening of another winter tourist season in the area of Central Bosnia.

The season will officially open on December 12, announced the director of the KSB Tourist Board Miroslav Matošević.

According to him, all visitors to Vlašić from 12 th until December 14th, a rich program awaits, and as part of the season opening event, the new visual identity of Central Bosnia, as well as the new Ski Central Bosnia website, will be presented.

“There is really great interest in the next winter tourist season, not only in the area of the Vlašić Mountain Center, but also in the other mountain centers of Central Bosnia. The tourist board organizes the ski opening in Vlašić again this year, which means the beginning of the tourist season in the area of the entire canton, and in cooperation with a tourist agency we are participating in the organization of the popular event Šankanje,” said Matošević.

Matošević also referred to this year’s tourism results in Central Bosnia, saying that the number of arrivals and overnight stays increased by about 10 percent.

“We expected 15 percent, such were the projections for 2024. However, due to the conflict in the Middle East in the seventh month, air traffic from certain countries was suspended, especially in this way we recorded a smaller number of guests. However, the eighth month was excellent, as was the winter season, so when we take everything, we again have a growth of up to 10 percent in realized arrivals and overnight stays,” he said.

When it comes to the structure of tourists, it varies in relation to the seasons, so in the winter months guests from the region predominate, mostly from Croatia, and in the summer there are more guests from the Middle East.

“Globally, we can say that the largest number of guests still comes from the Republic of Croatia, followed by Saudi Arabia and other countries in the Middle East, Serbia, Germany and other European countries,” said Matošević.

The most popular destinations are more or less always the same.

“When we look at visits, the most visited destinations also vary depending on the season, but overall the highest number of arrivals is in the area of the municipality of Travnik, followed by the municipality of Jajce and the municipality of Fojnica. When we look at the number of overnight stays, Fojnica is far ahead of all municipalities with its Reumal spa center, which achieves the highest number of overnight stays, followed by the municipality of Travnik, then the municipality of Jajce. It is a kind of top three destinations that does not change,” said Matošević.
