SNSD leader Milorad Dodik announced tonight the electoral victory of this party’s candidate for the President of the Republika Srpska, Siniša Karan, noting that it was greater than in the previous elections.

“In the previous elections, we won 9,577 votes, and today more than 10,360. Thank you to our activists, citizens and municipalities,” said Dodik at the press conference.

Branko Blanuša, SDS candidate for president of Republika Srpska, in today’s repeated early elections for president of Republika Srpska, said that he is not disappointed and that it is a match that you can win or lose.

“The next match is in October and it’s up to us to learn from this and prepare as best as possible,” Blanuša said.

He added that the support from some opposition parties was sincere, and from some it was not. He thanked everyone who was involved in the election process.

He said that it is good for the Republika Srpska that they will have a president of the Republika Srpska and that the institutions will function.

Early elections for the president of Republika Srpska were held today at 136 polling stations in 17 basic constituencies.

All polling stations open at 07:00 and close at 19:00.

Elections were repeated at individual polling stations in Prijedor, Laktaši, Banja Luka, Doboj, Stanari, Lopare, Ugljevik, Osmaci, Zvornik, Vlasenica, Bratunac, Nevesinje, Gack, Rudo, Bileća, Milići and Brčko.

84,474 voters had the right to vote in the repeated early elections for the president of Republika Srpska, and 41,826 or 49.51% of voters voted.

The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina received four complaints today and forwarded them to the competent municipal/city election commissions.

According to official information submitted to the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Srpska, 13 incidents were recorded from the moment of the opening of polling stations in the territory of the Republic of Srpska, ending at 3:00 p.m. Most of them all refer to applications for alleged vote buying.
