EUFOR warmly welcomes the UN Security Council’s unanimous decision on October 30th, 2026, to renew its mandate for another year. This vote of confidence confirms the Council’s trust in EUFOR’s ability to fulfill its duties in an effective, credible and impartial manner.

The reaffirmation is particularly meaningful as EUFOR navigates the recent, tragic loss of its dedicated personnel. Together with the 24 nations contributing to this EU-led operation, EUFOR stands ready to support local authorities in maintaining a safe and secure environment across Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Commander of EUFOR, Major General Maurizio Fronda expresses his deepest gratitude to the local partners and the population of BiH for the ongoing support, cooperation, and deep trust that allows us to successfully fulfill our mission every day.
