Orange Meteoalert issued for Parts of BiH

Due to extremely high daily temperatures in the area of ​​Herzegovina, central and northern Bosnia, an orange weather alert is in effect, and a yellow weather alert is in effect in Krajina and southwestern Bosnia.

Daily temperatures of up to 40 degrees Celsius are forecast in the Mostar area, and between 35 and 38 degrees Celsius in the Trebinje region, which is why the orange weather alert is in effect.

It will also be exceptionally warm in the Visegrad region, where daily temperatures are expected to be between 37 and 40 degrees Celsius, the Prijedor region between 36 and 39 degrees Celsius, and the Banja Luka and Foča regions between 35 and 38 degrees Celsius.

In the area of ​​the Tuzla region, daily temperatures are forecast up to 36 degrees Celsius, and in Sarajevo, 35 degrees Celsius.

“Stay alert and follow the advice of the competent services. Expect significant disruptions in daily routines. Travel only if necessary. Take precautions, extremely high temperatures are expected. Protect yourself and help vulnerable people. Act in accordance with the advice of authorized authorities. Expect possible breakdowns in the infrastructure”, they state from the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

At the same time, daytime temperatures of around 33 degrees Celsius are expected in the Livan region.

Today in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the forecast is sunny and hot with low to moderate cloud cover. Isolated local showers are possible in some parts of Bosnia in the afternoon.

The wind is weak in Herzegovina, mainly south-west, and in other areas north and north-east.

Morning air temperature from 20 to 26, in the south and north up to 28, and daytime from 32 to 38, in the south 41 degrees Celsius.

Sunny and hot in Sarajevo. The morning temperature is around 21, and the daytime temperature is around 36 degrees Celsius.
