The Head of the OSCE Mission to BiH Fletcher Burton visited municipality Goražde with his colleagues yesterday.
In the second visit to the city on the Drina, they spoke with the Mayor of Goražde Muhamed Ramović and his colleagues on the need for administrative reform, ideas on reforms that come from lower levels of government, regional cooperation, economy and education, as well as current activities and plans for the future.
“I feel welcome here because at our last meeting with the Mayor I had a very constructive discussion, and because of this I have come back here again to speak about the need for reform, regional cooperation, importance of creating new jobs in Goražde, as well as education that needs to adopt to the labor markets. Apart from that, I am gladly returning to Goražde because it is an example of openness and progress and the municipality that recognizes formal success’’, said Burton.
Mayor Ramović spoke of the very good cooperation and mutual understanding, and recalled that the cooperation with the OSCE has resulted in the implementation of several projects to reform the local government level.
“I think that we hold together as a community. Burton wishes to highlight this municipality as a positive example for other communities that could help us in the future. I am glad that municipality Goražde has good cooperation with embassies in BiH and with all other international organizations, and we really wish to maintain this rating, and all other reforms and entry of BiH in the EU”, said Mayor Ramović.
The OSCE Delegation met with officials from the Bosnian Podrinje Canton (BPK) and visited businesses “Bekto Precisa” and “Prevent”.
