Minister of Defense of B&H Zerkerijah Osmić presided the Delegation of Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces of B&H at the meeting of North Atlantic Council of NATO with Ministers of Defense of the member countries of the ISAF Mission in Afghanistan, which was held today in the Headquarters of NATO in Brussels.
Secretary General of NATO Anders Fogh Rasmussen presided the meeting. Fifty countries whose armed forces are participating in the ISAF operation in Afghanistan have attended the meeting. In his speech at the meeting, Minister Osmić emphasized the commitment of B&H to continue its participation in the ISAF Mission and the dedication of our country in the process of supporting the nation and the Government of Afghanistan.
As the operation partner and a participant in the ISAF Mission, our country together with other fifty countries is regularly invited to these types of meeting where they present the current activities connected to the review of event in Afghanistan.
Besides the meeting of the North Atlantic Council, Minister Osmić had several significant bilateral meetings with delegations of Ministries of Defense of other member countries of the ISAF Mission. Minister Osmić met with the Minister of Defense of Montenegro Milica Pejanović-Đurašinović, the Minister of Defense of Macedonia Talat Džaferi, Minister of Defense of Slovenia Aleš Hojs and the Minister of Defense of Georgia Irakli Alasiniae.
The Delegation of B&H consisted of Ambassador Branimir Jukić, Head of the Mission of B&H at NATO, Zoran Šajinović, the Deputy Minister of Defense for International Collaboration, Mustafa Sinanović, Head of the Office of Minister, brigadier Enes Husejnović, the Head of the Army Department of the Mission of B&H at NATO and brigadier Siniša Ostojić, the Professional Adviser for international collaboration of the Ministry of Defense of B&H.
