Our Contestants at the World Championship in Karate

World Championship in Karate will start in the Paris Hall ”Bercy”. For the second time in history, the capital city of France is organizing this championship, after 40 years when it was the host of the 2nd World Championship in 1972.

In the competition of more than 1.000 karate practitioners from 100 countries, Bosnia and Herzegovina will be represented by 15 contestants, 9 in male and 6 in female category.

According to the selection of the male representation by Suad Ćupina, Bosnia and Herzegovina will be represented in individual fights  by: Edin Muslić (up to 61 kg, Bihać), Adnan Lušija (up to 67 kg, Bosna, Sarajevo), Nermin Potur ( up to 75 kg, Ilidža), Alem Kupusović (up to 84 kg, Bosna) and Admir Zukan (more than 84 kg, Bosna), while Oliver Mandić ( Neretva), Mate Odak ( Neretva), Adnan Adilović ( Bosna) and Nerin Sinanović

(Tuzla) will join Potur, Kupusović and Zukan in the team fights.

For the female representation in the category of individual fights, and in the selection by Fikret Selman, these karate practitioners will perform for Bosnia and Herzegovina: Edina Ćatibušić (up to 50 kg, Tuzla Sinbra), Lana Đidić (up to 55 kg, Neretva), Mirsada Suljkanović (up to 61 kg, Tuzla Sinbra), Amila Fazlić  (up to  68 kg, Tuzla Sinbra) and Tanja Umićević (more than 68 kg, Bosna).  In the team matches these contestants will be joined by Larisa Berber (Tuzla, Sinbra).
