According to the latest data from health institutions, 11 people have died in Bosnia-Herzegovina of seasonal flu in the past three weeks.
The number of people suffering from this seasonal flu is increasing week by week.
The deaths caused by influenza AH1N1 are reported in Sarajevo, Tuzla, Zenica and Banja Luka.
According to the Federal Institute of Public Health, it was stated for Avaz news portal that moderate flu intensity is still registered in the Federation of BiH, with an increase in activity over the past three weeks.
“Since the beginning of the season, the Institute of Public Health of the Federation of BiH has reported a total of nine deaths positive for influenza virus type A, subtype A (H1N1). Four deaths were registered in Sarajevo Canton, three in Zenica-Doboj and two in Tuzla Canton. Since the beginning of the season, a total of 16,093 patients with flu-like symptoms have been reported to the Public Health Institute,” the Institute said.
The University Clinical Center of Republika Srpska has reported the death of two patients with severe acute respiratory infections who were positive for type A influenza virus, the RS Institute of Public Health said.
