Over Seven Hundred Thousand Tourists visited BiH!

In the period from January – June 2019 tourists realised 713,745 tourists arrivals which represent the increase by 11,6% and 1,454,904 overnight stays which is increase by 11.8% as compared to the same period of 2018, BiH’s Agency for Statistics stated in a report on Monday.

The number of domestic tourist nights increased by 7.9% and number of foreign tourist nights increased by 13,6% as compared to the same period of 2018. Domestic tourist’s share of total number of overnight stays was 30.4% and foreign tourists share was 69.6%.

Concerning the structure of foreign tourist nights, most of them (59.9%) were realised by tourists from Croatia (16.5%), Serbia (10.9%), Slovenia (5.8%), China (5.3%), Germany (5.2%), Italy (5.0%), Turkey (4.6%), Saudi Arabia (3.6%), and USA (3.0%). Tourists from other countries realised 40.1% of tourist nights.

Regarding the average detention of foreign tourist stays, on the first place come Ireland and Kuweit with average stay of 3.2 nights, Ukraine with 3.1 nights and Bahrein, Estonia and Latvia by 3.0 nights.

According to the type of accommodation facility the highest number of nights was recorded in Hotels and similar accommodation with share of 92.7%.
