“Biser”, the association of patients with breast cancer and other malignant diseases, today in Goražde registered the participants of the “Race for the cure”, which will be held in Sarajevo on September 25, organized by “Think pink – Zajedno smo jedno”.

It is the largest socially responsible event, the goal of which is to raise awareness in the fight against breast cancer in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“We are joining patient associations that will organize this activity throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina. By paying a symbolic registration fee of 10 BAM, citizens support this type of struggle and participate in the “Race for the cure”. After two pandemic years, we expect around 10,000 participants,” the president of the Association “Biser” Mersiha Pecikoza says.

“Race for the cure” is the biggest sports event dedicated to promoting the importance of women’s health.

Thanks to the organization of the same name, numerous organizations participate in this event, and the funds collected in this way are extremely important, because every year in Europe, about half a million new cases of breast cancer are diagnosed, and about 130,000 people lose their lives.
