Palestinian journalist Motaz Azaiza will arrive in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina tomorrow. He will speak at the seminar “From the Balkans to Gaza: a critical analysis of genocide” at the National Theatre.

He publishes daily on social networks what the people of Palestine are going through and thus contributes to the spread of the truth.

The aforementioned seminar aims to shed light on the deep and unpredictable consequences of Islamophobia from the Balkans to Gaza, with a special focus on its historical roots and contemporary manifestations.

“From the Balkans to Gaza: A Critical Analysis of Genocide” will explore topics such as a comparison of the genocide in Srebrenica, the siege of Sarajevo and the ongoing genocide in Gaza, the rising tide of Islamophobia around the world, and the potential connections between the rise of the right, Islamophobia, and colonial expansion in Palestine.

The seminar is organized by the Center for Advanced Studies (CNS) from Sarajevo, Islam and Muslims Initiative (IMI), an organization dedicated to promoting dialogue, understanding and coexistence among different communities based in Doha and Al Jazeera Balkans. The event starts at 5 p.m. All places are filled.

Opening remarks will be given by Lolwah Rashid Al Khater, Minister of State for International Cooperation of Qatar and Ahmet Alibasic, Director of the Center for Advanced Studies.

In addition to Motaz, Nataša Pirc Musar, President of the Republic of Slovenia, Benjamina Karić, Mayor of Sarajevo, David Hearst, editor-in-chief of the Middle East Eye portal and former chief correspondent of The Guardian, who reported from the Balkans during the 90s and Refik Hodžić, an expert in transitional justice, who worked for the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague.

Motaz shared the announcement of this event on Instagram and wrote: “I will represent Gaza there.”, Klix.ba writes.
