Paolo MagelliThe Golden Laurel Wreath Award, which is traditionally awarded by the International Theater Festival MESS, was given in Sarajevo to Paolo Magelli.

MESS Director Dino Mustafić emphasized that Magelli is a director that creates a social event out of a theater play.

He added that Magelli gave 17 such plays to Sarajevo audience, which is why the MESS Directorate decided to award him with this acknowledgement.

Paolo Magelli said he returned to Italy after 36 years of living in numerous countries around the world, and that Sarajevo has a special place in his soul.

“The compound of cultures that exists in Sarajevo depicts my life path and as soon as I finish with the current engagements I will come to host a play in Sarajevo because I have owed it to this city for these 40 years,” said Magelli.

Magelli in 1974 in Belgrade started a project that will enable him to cooperate with all the great centers of the former Yugoslavia and bring him numerous awards.
