At the session of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is scheduled for Wednesday, June 7, there will be a number of proposals for amendments to the law, among which is the Law on Value Added Tax /VAT/, which implies the abolition of tax payments on donated food, and six parliamentary initiatives, including one from SNSD MP Milorad Kojić, which calls for the reform of the Institute for Missing Persons of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In his explanation, Kojić states that it is necessary to form a working group as soon as possible to amend the Agreement on assuming the role of co-founder of the Institute, in order to amend the Agreement with the International Commission for Missing Persons.
In addition to Kojić, the session’s agenda includes the initiatives of MPs Sabina Ćudić from Our Party, Milan Dunović, Zlatan Begić and Vlatko Glavaš from DF, Saša Magazinović from SDP and Two initiatives by MP Narod i Pravda Nihad Omerović.
The bill on the amendment of the VAT Law was submitted to the parliamentary procedure by MPs Saša Magazinović, Nenad Grković, Denis Zvizdić, Šemsudin Mehmedović, Jasmin Emrić, Sabina Ćudić, Jasmin Imamović, Predrag Kojović, Ermina Salkičević-Dizdarević, Rejhana Dervišević, Albin Muslić, Mia Karamehić-Abazović, Nihad Omerović, Elvisa Hodžić and Aida Baručija, with a request for consideration under urgent procedure.
The agenda also includes consideration of the proposed law on amendments to the Law on Service in the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the aim of which is to ensure better staffing of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The parliamentarians should also have a bill on amending the Law on Labor in the Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, proposed by MPs Predrag Kojović, Sabina Ćudić and Aida Baručija.
In their explanation, they state that the changes refer to the right to work half-time for all parents and caregivers after maternity leave.
Also on the agenda is a proposal for a law on the amendment of the Criminal Code of BiH, the Law on the Basics of Traffic Safety on Roads in BiH, and the Law on Citizenship of BiH, the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH announced.
MPs should also discuss the draft law on the sea, proposed by MPs Amor Mašović, Denijal Tulumović, Edin Ramić, Midhat Čaušević, Nermin Mandra, Safet Kešo, Šemsudin Dedić, Šemsudin Mehmedović and Šerif Špago.
The proponents argue that it is necessary to pass this law because BiH is a coastal country and it is necessary to have regulations regulating the sea and maritime space and the legal regime in them.
The agenda of the session includes the report of the Collegium Commission and the Joint Commission of both Houses on the effort to reach agreement on several parliamentary proposals on amendments to laws and parliamentary conclusions.
It is planned that the MPs will consider the Annual Report of the Central Bank of BiH and the Annual Report of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of BiH for the past year, as well as information on the situation in the field of migration in BiH and information on the work of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH for 2022.
The beginning of the session is planned for 11:00 am.
