A large number of citizens from Vojvodina who participated in the mass protest in Belgrade reported to local health centers on Sunday with health issues, provincial media report.

Provincial media stated that citizens are reporting symptoms of ringing in the ears and headaches, which, according to other independent media, are being linked to exposure to a “sound cannon.”

One journalist spoke with several citizens who came to the health center and told him they were there due to ringing in the ears and headaches after the protest on Saturday.

They were in the part of the city where the incident occurred when a loud noise caused a large number of people to scatter.

They later testified that they heard an inexplicable noise that caused unease among the crowd.

The health center reported that they had a significantly higher number of patients on Sunday’s duty shift and that citizens were being referred for specialist examinations.

Similar cases have been recorded in Subotica, from which a large number of citizens also attended Saturday’s protest in Belgrade.

There is public speculation that a “sound cannon” or some similar technology was used against the protesters. However, representatives of the Serbian authorities and police reject such accusations.

A large protest gathering of students and citizens was held in Belgrade on Saturday, but it was interrupted after several incidents that, according to independent media and student organizations, were caused by supporters and agencies of the Serbian government.
