The Peace Building Center successfully implemented a peace camp and a caravan in which young peacekeepers visited Banja Luka, Tuzla, Mostar and Sarajevo, where they had the opportunity to learn about the work of non-governmental organizations and active individuals and to explore the cities and visit religious and cultural-historical buildings.
The peace caravan was preceded by a six-day peace camp in Sanski Most at the CIM’s Garden of Possibilities, which is located in nature and as such is ideal for education, acquaintance and rest.
Young people learned about topics such as positive peace, identities, stereotypes and prejudices that greatly influence thought processes and behaviors. An important part of the entire process is the building of inner peace, which is necessary and the starting point for building peace in the communities from which the participants come.
The project brought together young people from all over BiH of various ethnic and religious affiliations who recognize differences as values and want to get to know and understand each other.
By distancing ourselves from media hyperproduction and the enormous influx of information that occupies us every day, we stop sympathizing with each other and our emotions become much weaker, after we have reduced the use of the phone we feel better and emotions return to their original form, which allows us to work and educate ourselves, pointed out one of the participants.
The “EU for young peacebuilders in BiH” project is supported by the EU Delegation to BiH, the Center for Peacebuilding announced.
