A peaceful walk in support of the Palestinian people was held today in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sarajevo.

The gathering was organized by the association IOD (International organization for development), and a peaceful walk was held through the city center from Sebilje to Sarajevo’s Children’s Square.

Also, a humanitarian bazaar was held in front of the ARIA center where funds were collected to help the people of Palestine.

Citizens are invited through social networks to come and show solidarity with the people of Palestine and the horrors they face as a result of daily Israeli attacks.

Several hundred gathered waved Palestinian flags during a peaceful walk, and with messages from banners and shouting pro-Palestinian slogans condemned the current Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip and the oppression of Palestinians in the occupied West Bank.

Organizers said the event aims to raise awareness of the dire humanitarian conditions facing people in Palestine, appeal for an immediate ceasefire and honor the civilians who lost their lives in the Gaza Strip.

One of the organizers of the meeting, Safija Tadefi, said that in this way she raises her voice against the oppression of the Palestinians.

“We are here to show that we stand with the people of Palestine, to condemn the current genocide that is happening against the people of Gaza, the humanitarian crisis, the destruction of educational institutions, medical institutions, the killing of medical workers. We want to say that the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina are with the people of Palestine,” Tadefi said.

Pointing out that they had previously organized similar peaceful walks and humanitarian bazaars for the people of Palestine on several occasions, Tadefi said that they wanted to raise their voices in support of the Palestinians, AA writes.
