On the seventeenth day of his pilgrimage, in the late afternoon, Josip Jelinić arrived in Potočari, where he prayed for the victims of the genocide in Srebrenica.

He dedicated his journey of a thousand kilometers to the reconciliation of the people in our country, and his desire is to honor all the victims of the war during the 45 days of Lent.

He started from Medjugorje, and the goal is to arrive in Rama 45 days after the beginning of the pilgrimage.

“My wish is that during the 45 days of Lent, since Lent is a sign of penance for Catholics, I will honor all the victims of the war – Bosniaks, Serbs and Croats. Today we prayed in Kravica, now we are in Srebrenica, so this adventure of love, this fire that is spreading to Bosnia and Herzegovina continues. I call for peace to Bosniaks and Serbs and Croats, because I tell you from the ground that we are a good people, wherever I have been, wherever I have been – both Bosnian and Croatian – I received a lot of love. People gave me a place to stay, they treated me with coffee and cake, and when it rained they gave me an umbrella, they are really nice to me. That is the true image of Bosnia and Herzegovina and we need to take it into our hearts,” said Jelinić.

“It is an act worthy of praise and I am glad that he decided to visit Srebrenica, Potočari, the place where the genocide was committed in 1995. On behalf of the victims, on behalf of the Islamic community, on behalf of all of us returnees, I thank him for that. God willing, his intention will be correct and result in the reconciliation of all of us here in Bosnia and Herzegovina”, emphasized Faruk ef. Hasanović, president of the Islamic community of Srebrenica.

After visiting the Memorial Center in Potočari, Josip Jelinić headed to Srebrenica. Tomorrow morning he is leaving for Tuzla, Federalna writes.
